| Abstract |
| Background: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the air way, resulting in episodic reversible obstruction and inflammation of the air ways leading to breathlessness, tightness, chest, cough, and wheeze. Children with bronchial asthma life style are disrupted to various extents based on bronchial asthma severity. School aged children with asthma experience more hospitalizations, more school absenteeism, academic under achievement, decreased overall activity, and disruption of family functioning compared to healthy classmates. Objectives: assessment the impact of bronchial asthma on the quality of life (QoL) among school-age children (6-12 year) related to demographic characteristic providing care to a child with asthma influences parents' and children's via their effects on the family's environment as a whole. Research methodology: the study was conducted at out-patient and in-patient pediatric department of governmental hospitals at Taif Province. Results: indicated a significant link between asthma severity and life quality; majority of studied subjects had neutral life style, followed by good and bad life style, respectively compared with healthy one of the same age. Allergens and weather conditions were the most prevalent factors triggers severe and exacerbation childhood asthma attacks. Conclusion: pediatric asthma is one of the most common chronic pediatric chest inflammatory disorders. Consistently, children with asthma have lower life quality. The child with asthma can live safely after narrowing these factors. Physicians must promote patient the necessary knowledge and care for effectively self-management of disease process and improve life quality |
